Three days till my vacation! God, I really need it with all this working extra shifts during previous two weeks.
Having not much spare money I thought I'd have to spend my vacation at home, but thankfully we'll have a little family trip. We are going to my father's aunt birthday. And on the way to her town (which is 310 miles away from us) we'll visit another town (where I would be able to visit several writers' museums) and the country estate of one of my most favourite Russian writers. And of course sightseeing in Svetlana's hometown. It is my favourite kind of vacation - seeing new places and going to museums :)

In the meantime today is the day of the premier of the last Harry Potter movie in our country. I will go to see it tomorrow with 1100 fellow fans from our HP fandom. I can't believe it will be our last premier together. Watching movies together, hundreds of people every time, was one of the best things in the fandom for me.

Day 30: What affect has Harry Potter made on your life and how much does it mean to you?
Thanks to Harry Potter I've met a lot of interesting people.
HP wasn't my first fandom but became my main one, and speaking about my "activity" still is my main fandom.
Thanks to HP I'm back to reading books and watching movies in the original if they are in English.
But the most important part is new people. It's been a bumpy road but many of those whom I met through HP are still a part of my life. And that's what really counts.

And I just reall love these books.

Day 29: Did you enjoy A Very Potter Musical?
I've never seen it. I know, everybody loves it but something just stops me from watching it.

Day 28: Do you listen to Wizard Wrock, what do you think about it?
I've never listned to it. Heard something about it, but only now, after this question, feel some interest and urge to research it. Why not give it a go?

Day 26: If you could be able to work one spell without a wand what would it be?
Definitely Accio. :) It's really convenient.

Day 27: Would you rather own The Invisibility Cloak, The Resurrection Stone or The Elder Wand?
History actually has taught me something )) so my answer is The Invisibility Cloak. I've read the tale really attentively :)

Day 25: Nineteen years later. Are you happy how it turned out, or do you wish something was different, i.e. Neville married Luna?

I'm absolutely happy with the epilogue. Although Neville and Luna? That would be great :)

Day 21: Out of all the characters that died, if you could bring one back, who would it be?
Fred Weasley. His death was a real shock for me. I wasn't expecting it like, for example, Snape's death and I still don't understand it.

Day 22: Harry Potter or Twilight?
Harry Potter. I haven't read Twilight, but I've started the first book of the series somewhere in August and still have read only two chapters... So the answer is obvious.

Day 23: Any part of the books/movies that makes you cry?
I don't cry over books. I think it has something to do with my profession - you know, if books made me cry I would have cried my heart out in the first years in the University. Still the end of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire made me tearful. Movies is quite the opposite thing. I always cry while watching a movie. I cry at characters' deaths, weddings, sad endings, happy endings... I cried while watching The Matrix for god's sake! So there is a lot in Harry Potter movies that make me cry. And I'm dreading of what Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movies will do to me.

Day 24: Any particular scene you wished would have been put in the movie but it wasn’t?
Hm, I really can't think of any particular scene.

Day 20: If you had to meet one member of the cast, who would it be?
Maggie Smith. I adore her.

Day 16: Favorite professor?
Professor McGonagall, I've already written about her :)

Day 17: Are you excited about The Deathly Hallows movie or scared it won’t do the book justice?
The thing is I never get too excited aboutcoming movies and books. Maybe it's the reason why I'm rarely disappointed in them. So I'm just curious about the movie, that's all.

Day 18: Least Favorite book?
I don't know, I really like all of them. OK, let's say Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix because it took me more time to read it than others. I was struggling with it a bit.

Day 19: Do you prefer the books or films?
Oh, it's not really a question ))) Books, of course. Movies are just illustrations (which helps a lot, I'd say, because I have problems with visualizing).

Day 15: Who would be your best friends at Hogwarts? (three only)
Ron, Fred and George Weasley. They and my school friends are so alike :)

Day 14: Team Voldemort or Team Harry?
Definitely Team Harry. I'm a good girl after all ;) In fact, I really don't understand this whole concept of the attractiveness of bad guys or evil being romantic, so definitely Team Harry.

So far Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Day 12: Favorite ship?
Ron & Hermione. I've been waiting for them to get together since the very beginning. It wasn't an easy road, but they stiil made it. And I don't understand those people who think that Hermione could do so much better or should be with Harry. Ron is the right person for her and Hermione is the one for him. For me it's been pretty obvious since reading the first book.
And frienship which turns into love... I like it so much.

Day 11: What character would you say you are most like?
Hermione Granger. We are so alike that sometimes my relatives and friends are laughing while watching Harry Potter movies. Especially those friends who have studied with me at school or in the University :)

Day 10: Horcruxes or Hallows?
Deathly Hallows. In fact I like both ideas - they are very interesting, but still having to commit a murder to create something... No, not for me. I agree, everything is also not so easy with taking possesion of the Elder Wand, but the 7th book shows us that death not necessarily is needed and everything can be done so elegant and brilliant.

Day 9: Least Favorite male character?
Sirius Black. Non-typical answer, yeah. Everything about him just annoys me so much.

Day 7: Favorite female character and why?
Minerva McGonagall. I've even taken her surname as a part of my nickname :)
I've always wanted to be a teacher, and she is my ideal in this profession. She is the kind of teacher I've always wanted to be (turns out, in reality I'm some mix of McGonagall and Snape, according to my students). She's the kind of person I've always wanted to be, too.

Day 8: What do you think would be your Favorite lesson?
Potions, I think. It seems like I have in myself everything needed to be good in it. And no, I wouldn't be afraid of Snape - I've seen worse, believe me. Or maybe it'd be Transifiguration. Or Charms... I just really enjoy studying :) But I'm sure it wouldn't be Divination ;)

Day 3: Is there any of the films adaptations that have made you angry because they've ignored important parts of the book?

Oh yeah, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The story line about the Half-Blood Prince was just left behind, though it's not just several scenes - it's the story line which gave the book its title, for God's sake! Once I was watching this film with a friend of mine who hadn't read the book. After the film I had to retell her all about the Half-Blood Prince so that she could understand it.

Day 4: Least Favorite female character and why?
Hm, it's a really difficult question... I think Alecto Carrow. For me the Carrows are, maybe, the most disgusting characters in all Potter books.

Day 5: Favorite male character and why?
Remus Lupin. I know there are many people who consider Lupin weak and spineless, but I don't see him like this. He is an extremely honest and decent man, the most noble not by origin but by spirit of all Marauders.
He is a brilliant teacher. And it amazes me that the person with such an inner conflict (and who would't have one, when there is a beast inside you) can understand and sense people so well. Being ready to give up love, to leave his family for their own good is not some sign of cowardice - it is something that needs a lot of courage to be done.

Day 6: What House would you want to be in?
Ravenclaw. And I'm pretty sure that this is the House I'd be sorted in.

I have something to torture you with for the whole September *gg*

HP meme )

Since it's already the second day of the month here where I am, we'll have two days :)

Day 1: Your Favorite book.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. In fact I love all the books for their language and for the new world created by JK. I can see where from she took what and it really fascinates me, but it's more of a professional thing and as a fan I'd say - the 7th book, definetely. It's not very popular among my friends, but I really like it. I have no questions for JK because of the end, everything is pretty logical for me. Oh, and I've never been a Snape fan, so I wasn't mourning his death. Although two of my favourite characters were killed in this book, it's still my favourite one.

Day 2: Your Favorite movie.
Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban. It's just beautiful. Really beautiful... And the scene when Hermione punches Draco is just priceless *gg*

And 10 random songs from my walkman for you just to get the idea what music I listen now.
1. Sixpence None The Richer - Kiss Me
2. Howie Day - Trouble In Here
3. Muse - Muscle Museum
4. Franz Ferdinand - 40'
5. Travis - Sing
6. Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead Or Alive
7. Pixies - Where Is My Mind?
8. Spice Girls - Vivat Forever
9. The Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive
10. Elbow - Grounds For Divorce

And if after number eight you're running from here and running fast... I don't even blame you for it *gg*
