It seems to me that if I see another post about poor miserable Joubert, my brain will just burst!

Hmm. How come I haven't seen anything about Joubert yet? :) All I keep seeing is Weir! Everywhere! Honestly, I'd prefer Joubert any time. *gg*

Oh, so they don't love him anymore? 8) One fail puts an end to the undying love towards their team leader? Aww, poor Joubie. *gg*

Everybody can fail once in a while. I know a boy who was 17-th at the 2002 JWC, but guess what happened the next time he came to JWC. ;) (I know, I know, don't say it! *gg*)

In Joubert's case, I think he really should be spared all this nastiness. Sure, he should be beaten over the head with something, but not hard enough to kill. That's the problem with both our Federations, I think. First we sing praises and love them endlessly - and the next moment we're stomping our feet all over their faces shouting how unworthy they are. One fail makes us unreasonable. At least Joubie has his fans, that are not abandoning him [yet].

You know I'm not that much of his fan, and I used to be terribly envious of the fact that it was his third fucking Games. Joubert is not a boy anymore, you know? And he surely understands that it was his last chance, so I can assure you it's bad enough for him as it is, without the addition from the Federation, the press and the public.

That was not exactly what I was talking about. Whether he can handle Worlds now or not, whether he's stable enough or not has nothing to do with the fact, that they're unnecessarily adding to it by making the team ex-leader jump through the hoops. There should be a solid decision about the skaters being on the team in the beginning of the season. There are rules, there are Nationals. You do this - you get that. You don't do this - you don't get that. The rules of the game should be clear from the beginning. There should be no trying to fall between two stools, so to speak.

So, if Joubert is on the team and hasn't done anything Lutaesque *gg* to deserve a disqualification, then he should be left alone. If he has no right to be on the team, having not participated in the Nationals, then he should be left alone even the more so, and Amodio, Ponsero and Preaubert should go to the Worlds. There should be some consistency, you know? If you're on the team? You go. If you're not on the team? You don't go. All these elaborate schemes with test skates and all the shit just irritate the hell out of me, honestly. Stress the athletes even more by having them do numerous test skates after the Olympics, oh what a way to go.

I don't know what shape Joubert is in, I haven't seen him this season. If you say he's unfit to go, then I have no reason to not believe you. and I personally really don't care much whether he comes to the Worlds or not. I just think that he should be spared all this humiliation, because yesterday they adored him to the skies and back and today they hate him, and it just looks bad. I firmly believe in sticking to your guns, you know?

Besides, adding to the pain just looks mean. I don't think he's a clay doll with no feelings and no understanding of what it all means for him. Poking the wounds with a dirty finger is mean. He really should be left alone, and probably left at home. And then Yagudin should be brought in for comforting poor Joubie into oblivion. *gg*
